Song for Baptism
19 April 2003, 8 am | Song
This song by Switchfoot, “I Dare You to Move”, seems to apply to baptism.
Listen to a clip of this song.
Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next
What happens next
(chorus)
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor
I dare you to move
I dare you to move
Like today never happened
Today never happened before
Welcome to the fallout
Welcome to resistance
The tension is here
The tension is here
Between who you are and you could be
Between how it is and how it should be
chorus
Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna go?
Salvation is here
chorus

Woo-master 5000, I want to be the first to congratualate you and welcome you to the church. I hope feel the grace that the Holy Eucharist gives you in your daily life. It has been really awesome watching you, from a distance, become part of the church. At times you have really challenged me and made me think about my faith.
May God continue to bless you with your new found strenth in Him, and may you be able to defend your faith with much valor.
