You have been told…
8 October 2003, 1 pm | Faith, Quote
I think of this verse from Micah 6:8 in some of my darker or confused moments:
You have been told, O man, what is good,
and what the Lord requires of you:
Only to do the right and to love goodness,
and to walk humbly with your God.
The “walk humbly” part brings to mind of deep, blue skies and green trees shading a path through the woods. The journey is easier, the load lighter, the obstacles smaller, when you remember that you are traveling with God.

i love that verse, too. try this: diagram the sentence with the “do justly” and “love mercy” and “walk humbly” *all* having “with your God” as a descriptive preposition. justice God’s way - mercy God’s way - humility God’s way. whew :)

Humility is such an awesome, powerful trait that is so rarely found these days. Christianity and Catholicism require humility, and pick any great Saint or person who writes about prayer and you will see humility as their foundation.
